Joseph Brownlee, served in the US Army in World War I. He was killed in action on 21 September, 1918 at the battle of Bois-de-la-Montague in France. His photo and service card are accessible online at the New Jersey State Archives.

Joseph was born 16 September, 1890, the son of Thomas Brownlee and Jane Grimason; he was the grandson of William Brownlee and Rachel Sanderson of Co Armagh, Ireland.

The William Brownlee and Rachel Sanderson of Co Armagh, Ireland above were also my great-great grandparents. Joseph Brownlee was the first cousin of my grandmother, Mary "Minnie" Brownlee, born 2 June 1878 in Ballingtagart, County Armagh.
