Research notes:

  1. On Andrew Brownlee’s death certificate[45], the informant is Andrew Brownlee, son, living at 38 Michael Place, East Wemyss (present at death). There is also an error in the name of father. It is recorded as Samuel Brownlee and should be Alexander Brownlee. Samuel Kelly was Mary Kelly’s father. Note by Ian Brownlee ian@brownlee.com.au
  2. Mary Gallacher born c1842 was the daughter of John Gallacher, coal miner and Ann Harrison. She married Michael Heatherington, mason’s labourer. Mary died on 2 June 1903 from cardiac failure at the Parochial Hospital, Dundee and was aged 61 years. At the time of her death, Mary was recorded as living at 38 Whorterbank, Lochee. She had a daughter named Bridget Hetherington who was the informant at Mary’s death. Are Mary Gallacher and Michael Hetherington, Catherine Hetherington’s parents[46]? Note by Ian Brownlee ian@brownlee.com.au
  3. Alexander died on 16 November 1869 at 299 Gartsherrie, Old Monkland. On his death certificate, it gives his father as Alexander BROWNLEE and mother as Agnes BOYD. Although on Alexander Junior's marriage certificate in 1849 it is very difficult to read but looks as though Alexander Brownlee is already deceased.  I have no idea where Alexander originates, i.e. Antrim or Scotland, as I can find no record of a birth certificate and I have no idea whether or not Alexander has other siblings and these may be some found in the same area I have found Alexander.
