and migrated to New Zealand on "Ganges" in 1863.

Thomas Brownlee, born 1825 in Pollokshaws, Renfrewshire, died 1899.  Married Agnes Dick, born 1830, died 1910.  Migrated to Auckland, New Zealand on "Ganges" in 1863 and settled at Awhitu.

They had Issue:

1. William Brownlee was born 14 November 1847, at Govan, Renfrewshire, Scotland. He was a builder and in 1874 he was married at Auckland to Agnes Matilda Little[1] born 14 July 1853 at Crew, Cheshire, England.

They had Issue:

1. William Brownlee, born 29 October 1878, New Zealand.

2. James Brownlee, born 16 July 1880, New Zealand.

3. Thomas Brownlee was born 16 September 1877 in New Zealand. He married Lena Johnson in 1907 in Auckland N.Z.

They had Issue:

1. Cyril Thoms Scott Brownlee[2], born 2 March 1908 Auckland.  Married Freda Evelyn Pedder 4 January 1933, Taumarnui, N.Z.

They had Issue:

1. Robin Scott Brownlee, born 25 October 1934.  Married Mary Teresa Oliver April 1962, Palmerston North, New Zealand.

They had Issue:

1. Joanne Mary Brownlee was born on 13 August 1963, Palmerston North, N.Z.

2. Belinda Jane Brownlee was born 2 April 1965, Palmerston North, N.Z.

3. Scott Desmond Brownlee was born 13 August 1969, Palmerston North, N.Z.

3. James Brownlee was born 28 October 1849 in Pollockshaws, Easatwood, Renfrewshire, Scotland. In 1851 Census James was living with his family in Pollockshaws. In 1861 Census he was a message boy. He went to New Zealand with his family aboard the "Ganges", which docked at Auckland on 12 October 1863. James was nominated as executor on his father's will in February 1899. James married [Bella McIndoe] Isabella Walker[3], in Mt. Albert on 23 November 1882 and they were living at Stewart Street, Ponsonby in 1884. James worked as a store-man. Isabella would have been born c 1857 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

1. Agnes Brownlee born 9 March 1884 in Stewart Street, Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand.

2. Agnes Brownlee born 18 July 1887 in Stewart Street, Ponsonby, Auckland, New Zealand. She married Thomas Sidney Webb on 29 April 1918. Ethel died 4 October 1963.

They had issue:

1. Alfred James Webb who married Aileen Barton in 1940.

They had issue:

1. Stanley James Webb in 1943.

4. Thomas Brownlee, born 1861, worked as a farmer and died 1899. Thomas was married in 1886 to Jane Garton, born 18 October 1867, died 27 July 1940.

1. Robert Ernest Brownlee, born 13 May 1887, died 17 August 1961. Robert married Miriam Turner born 7 May 1897, died 13 February 1982.

They had Issue:

1. Thomas Hone Brownlee was born 31 January 1917, Auckland. Robert served England and Middle East 1940-1944 as Sgt. 21st BN 2 NZEF and was wounded at El Alamain. He married Nellie Jean Alleb, born 4 November 1923 in London.

They had Issue:

1. Margaret Ann Brownlee was born in Auckland 8 November 1947. She attended Hamilton Teacher Training College from 1966 to 1969. Margaret married Bruce Cocking in 1971.

They had Issue:

1. Julie Marie Cocking, born 27 February 1973.

2. Keith Reginald Cocking, born 24 September 1975.

2. Susan Elsie Brownlee, born Te Kuiti 15 Jne 1951. Susan was W.R.N.Z.N. 1969, Dental Attendant.  She was a leading WREN on discharge in 1972. She married Graham Hopkinson in 1972.

They had Issue:

1. Karen Lynette Hopkinson born 1976.

2. Shiree Betty Hopkinson born 1982.

Thomas Hone Brownlee and Nellie Allen also had:

3. Allen Hone Brownlee was born in Te Kuiti on 1 June 1953 and was R.N.Z.N. 1970 First Class Electrical Mechanic in 1972. He was a leading Electrician in 1974 and Petty Officer in 1977. Allen served on H.M.N.Z.S. "Waikato" "Taranaki" and "Kiama" and was discharged in 1978. He is now a Maintenance Electrician with "Thorn Electrical Industries". Allen married Mary Rose Grattan in 1975.

They had Issue:

1. Paulette Michelle Brownlee, born 1977.

2. Mark Allen Brownlee, born 1979.

3. Aaron Barry Brownlee, born 1981.

Thomas Hone Brownlee and Nellie Allen also had:

4. Barry John Brownlee (1st twin) was born in Te Kuiti on 28 September 1956. He worked on his parent’s farm until it was sold in (?). He started as an errand boy with Kirk Motors in 1975 and is now the manager of Spare Parts Department in Manurewa. He married Veronica Mary Agassiz in 1981.

Thomas Brownlee and Agnes Dick also had:

5. Agnes Brownlee married John Irwin of Awhitu.
