John Brounlee born c1760 from Cambusnethan Parish was married on 6 March 1795[1][2] to Jean Braden[3] (Bradden, Braiden or Brydon) born c1765 of Carluke Parish. John and Jean were both deceased by 1860 at the time of their daughter Mary’s death[4].

They had issue:

1. Margaret Brounlee born 1 April 1796 at Wishawtoun and baptised 17 April 1796[5].

2. Mary Brounlee was born 15 April 1798 at Stewarttoun and baptised 28 April 1798[6] their second child. Mary died single at the age of 61 years at 5:30am on 11 July 1860 at 35 Kirkwood Street, Wishaw. She died from Morbus Coxarius (painful disease of the hip) as certified by Robert Livingstone physician in Wishaw who last saw Mary on 5 July 1860. She was buried at Cambusnethan New Churchyard. Her brother John Brownlee of Gilhead was the informant[7].

3. John Brounlee born 25 December 1800 at Wishawtoun and baptised 28 December 1800[8]. Lived at Gilhead in 1860[9].

4. Janet Brounlee was born 2 February 1803 at Wishawtoun and baptised 3 April 1803[10] their fourth child.
