Notes from Jessie Brownlee born 1861, daughter of William Ross Brownlee suggest that the Low Mill was used to mill grain for flour mill. (1) & (2)

Robert Forrest 1808-1876 and his wife Agnes Brownlee 1807-1887 managed Low Mill in Carluke. (2)
