1. Alexander Brownlee, born 1833 in Mississippi. Married to Mary Pickens Ball in 1858 in either, Pickens County, Alabama, or Winston County in Mississippi. They were living in Louisville, Winston County, Mississippi, during 1858. Alexander apparently died between 1872 and 1880, because in 1880 census Mary Pickens Ball Brownlee is married to Alanson Lord and living in Attalla County, MS. He is head of household and stepsons Albert, Augustus, and Raymond are with them. Mary Pickens Ball Brownlee remarried after Alexander’s death circa 1872 to Alanson Lord and lived in Attalla County, MS. Mary died in (?) and she is buried in Crowley, La.
They had issue:
1. Laurel Augusta Brownlee died in 1906 in New Iberia, La.
2. Albert Brownlee buried in Crowley, La.
3. Augustus Brownlee
4. Raymond Brownlee
5. (Their last son?) born circa 1872
A) Betty Brownlee’s grandfather was Laurel Augusta Brownlee.
B) There was a William and an Alexander who were brothers who purchased land in Winston County in 1836 for William and 1839 for Alexander. Alexander witnessed William's purchase of this Indian land that had been opened for sale. These two were from Lowndes County. I have copies of these documents and of Alexander and Mary's deed. I just don't know who Alexander's parents were.
