Alexander Brownlie, miller in Croy Mill, Dumbartonshire, Scotland Married 6 June 1800 at Cumbernauld Parish Dumbartonshire to Janet Waters of Kirkintolloch Parish, daughter of Thomas Waters and Mary Bow[1]. They had Issue: 1. Thomas Brownlie, farmer, born c1809 in Croy Mill, married 4 May 1849 at Abbey Parish Church Paisley Renfrew to Mary McNeil. Arrived in Australia c1858 and settled on "Aston Station"[2]. Thomas died 24 October 1910 aged 101 years and is buried on "Aston Station". Mary McNeil was born Bothwell Parish c1833. She was well known as the District Nurse in Bombala and died 8 September 1916 at Daisy Hill. Mary is buried in a private cemetery on "Aston Station". Mary was the daughter of James McNeil (engineer) and Agnes Hill. They had Issue: 1. Thomas Brownlie, born 4 May 1849, died 20 July 1912. 2. Margaret Brownlie, born 24 January 1853 at Croy Mill. Married 12 December 1870 (1st) Captain Andrew Jacob Elton, born 5 March 1845 at "Maharatta", Bombala. Died 5 December 1873 at Bombala, NSW. They had Issue: 1. Charles Elton 2. Thomas Arthur Elton, born 19 August 1873 at Ashton, Bombala, died 10 December 1957 at Bega, NSW. Married 15 June 1904 to Catherine Harris, born 3 September 1874 at Murranumbla, Monaro, died 30 December 1967 at Ashfield, Sydney, NSW. They had issue: 1. Violet Elton married Alexander Brownlie 2. Olive Jean Elton, born 1909 at Cooma, NSW, died 11 May 1984 at Mudgee, NSW, buried at Bega. Married 8 December 1930 to Charles H. Deacon, born 7 January 1901 at Cathcart, died 22 April 1972 at Bega. Margaret died 2 November 1964 and Charles died 5 July 1937. They had Issue: 1. Evelyn Mary Bruce, born 2 July 1897, died 11 August 1980. Married 21 April 1920 to Darcy Edwin Trevanion. 2. Arthur Ernest Bruce, born 2 April 1899, died 15 July 1979. 3. Baden William Bruce, born 22 September 1900, died 24 November 1969. Married 6. December 1928 to Miriam Gertrude Morgan.
